Created attachment 145085 [details] Video Example SUMMARY For a bit now my compositing has been very broken, it got worse after an update but I did said update mainly because the compositing was broken. It will generally be a bit buggy and not render things like videos or changes on the screen properly then now when I alt+tab it completely crashes. Restarting KDE temporarily fixes the problem (for like 4 seconds) or until I alt+tab. If I restart kwin in a terminal with setsid kwin_x11 --replace & I get this when it crashes. Sometime it’ll also set Compositing Enabled to False in kwinrc (but won’t set OpenGLIsUnsafe to true) Application::crashHandler() called with signal 11; recent crashes: 1 KCrash: crashing... crashRecursionCounter = 2 KCrash: Application Name = kwin_x11 path = /usr/bin pid = 17040 KCrash: Arguments: /usr/bin/kwin_x11 --replace Warning: Setting a new default format with a different version or profile after the global shared context is created may cause issues with context sharing. (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Can you attach a symbolicated backtrace of the kwin_x11 crash? See > https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/ > How_to_create_useful_crash_reports I tried getting one with gdb but wasn't successfull, looked like it kept going after the crash, I restarted kwin and when I tried to exit gdb the desktop session just froze. I have attached another video example of what can happen now, sometimes it crashes after this and sometimes it doesn't.

I'm afraid we need a backtrace. What problem did you run into? I can help.
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #5) > I'm afraid we need a backtrace. What problem did you run into? I can help. I'm sorry but it doesn't actually crash most of the time, just stops working properly.
Ok, so let's use this only to track the graphical glitches.
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #7) > Ok, so let's use this only to track the graphical glitches. Alright, although the laggy ness also happens even if there isn't any crash, when it does I have to either restart kwin if it happens to all programs, or restart that program.
same issue in my case. I'm adding a screenshot and journalctl

This looks a lot like a severe driver bug. If it's still happening, please report it to NVidia.
