Show the grid in 32x32 and active snap to the grid 3. Select the "selection" tool 4. The 'geometric' selection tools do snap to the grid but you have to check in 'View -> Snap To' to make sure that only 'Snap To Grid' is enabled. If you have 'Snap Pixel' enabled then it will snap to everywhere. Is only 'Snap To Grid' enabled?
Ahh, so disabling "snap to pixel" seems to fix the problem.
