I hope I get the terminology right:
1) Tabs are tabs, they go into the tab bar.
2) Views are the individual terminals in one tab achived by spitting.

As of now, Last Used Tabs  does not cycle only between tabs, but also between views. So I I have two tabs with one tab being split into two, I have to press CTRL+Tab three times to get to the original tab, because it will focus each view in the other tab. As there are specific (spatial) actions for moving between views, I think Last Used Tabs should only switch between actual tabs. I think this would even make sense as a default, but I would be happy with an option too.
