Description Tomas 2021-12-30 22:05:01 UTC
The good old KSysGuard showed Total running processes count in bottom left corner. It would be nice to have this functionality in new System Monitor app.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 21.10
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.89

Can you expand on a use case where this is useful?
Comment 2 Tomas 2021-12-31 16:42:54 UTC
Yes. Because the app is called System Monitor, and it's purpose is to show the user whats going in with the system in detail. There are many use cases. From simple monitoring to debugging developing apps. I'm experimenting with bash, now trying some multi-thread -multi-process programming, its very useful to see how many processes your shell have spawned. Oh and one more thing. The details about running process is gone. KSysGuard had it. When you hover the mouse over particular process it shows you executable path. In this app everything is so stripped down, that its even a question if it's name represents what this app does. I hope KDE wont go GNOME path.

By the way, could you recommend other system monitor apps for kde which are more powerful?
