Created attachment 144928 [details] Write metadata configuration SUMMARY I have been using DigiKam a bit the last days and I found that after applying reverse geotag, to get the photos with their country, city, etc. I saw those tags in DigiKam but they are not being saved into each file. I configured the metadata write behaviour to write everything except faces STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Get a photo with gps info and without tags 2. Apply one tag, e.g., nature 3. Run reverse geotag and get the country, city, etc tags, e.g., spain, seville 4. Check the jpg file using another program (windows explorer in my case) or export that jpg without removing its metadata OBSERVED RESULT Only the first tag (nature) is in the file EXPECTED RESULT All the tags should be in the file, nature; spain; seville SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I got those tags applied after I manually use the option "Write metadatas into the selected files"
I don't think digiKam is making a mistake here. The question is which metadata tags Windows Explorer reads. Microsoft only reads its own tags. Check digiKam's ExitTool View or Metadata View to see whether the tags are included. Otherwise, upload an image so we can review. If not publicly on my private mail. Note that digiKam Gelocation writes information as normal tags. We already have bug reports to write geolocation information as Geo-IPTC / XMP tags. Maik

Sorry for the taking to long to reply, I tried it again, I'm seeing the tags in preview window but they aren't in the file, I think that with my current configuration those tags should be autosaved
I'm not sure if I understand your problem correctly. Your last screenshot is strange, I see Madrid and Spain in the thumbnail. However, this is not available in the right sidebar. Both listings of tags come from the database and should be the same. Can you send the image to my private mail to see what tags were actually saved in the image? Maik
Thanks for the sample image. It only contains the tag "NATURALEZA". In the Gelocation Editor and Reverse Geolocation there is a button "More options". Actually it only contains the one option to write the tags to XMP. Did you activate this checkbox? Maik
Hi Maik, thanks for your help, I think you found the error. I had that option disabled and that was the problem Sorry for the noise :S
