STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add Activity Bar Widget to the task bar
2. Right click on desktop and select "Configure desktop and wallpaper" settings.
3. Might be reproduced by opening other settings too, but the step 2 happens always

OBSERVED RESULT
Activity name text gets cut in half

Linux/KDE Plasma:  KDE Neon 5.23 user edition and Kubuntu 21.10
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version:  5.23.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.89.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

It happens both on X11 and Wayland

I was able to confirm the reported issue, in a recent KDE version. 
System used for testing:

OS: Manjaro Linux x86_64
 Host: KVM/QEMU (Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009) pc-q35-8.0)
 Kernel: 6.1.41-1-MANJARO
 Packages: 1191 (pacman)
 Shell: bash 5.1.16
 Resolution: 1920x1200
 DE: Plasma 5.27.6
 WM: KWin
 Theme: [Plasma], Breeze [GTK2/3]
 Icons: [Plasma], breeze [GTK2/3]
 Terminal: konsole
 CPU: Intel i7-4790K (3) @ 4.080GHz
 GPU: 00:01.0 Red Hat, Inc. Virtio 1.0 GPU
