See the details given on bug #447391 about binary compatibility of AppImage with glibc.

Can you give the details about the "ldd --version" from a console please ?

Linux Mint 19 aka Tara is based on Glibc 2.27. It's the same than Ubuntu 18.04 used now to compile digiKam 7.9.0 AppImage. So, digiKam must be binary compatible with Linux Mint 19 as previously we use Linux Mageia 7 based on Glibc 2.29 not compatible with Linux Mint 19.
