SUMMARY Resetting to defaults in a complicated settings page with multiple tabs (eg. Touchpad when using the synaptics driver) resets all the tabs to defaults. Expected behavior would be to reset only the tab the user is currently on to reset to defaults. However, I also see the need to reset everything to defaults at times. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Go to a complicated settings page with multiple tabs 2. Change a bunch of settings on different tabs 3. Reset to defaults using the Defaults option in the bottom bar OBSERVED RESULT All the tabs are resetted to defaults, this is not indicated anywhere. EXPECTED RESULT Having a dropdown in 'Defaults', saying 'Reset all defaults' and 'Reset only current tab to defaults' or something like that. Right now it's very consistent. You click on the "Defaults" button to reset *everything* to its default settings. Otherwise what it does would be unpredictable. Will it reset everything to defaults? Only the stuff on this tab? Only the stuff for the current device? Only the stuff for the current list item? That's just not workable, sorry. Offering multiple options for what to reset to default settings seems like super overkill. I don't think we can do this.
