SUMMARY GCompris reports missing translation even though there is Czech variant (we used it in older versions). Not sure, if it's project issue or packaging issue. *** OBSERVED RESULT Translation is missing in game and even CLI version information shows "cs_CZ missing" SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS System: Kernel: 5.15.8-zen1-1-zen x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 11.1.0 parameters: BOOT_IMAGE=/@/boot/vmlinuz-linux-zen root=UUID=6833d1ef-f457-453b-87ce-0f664df63ff6 rw rootflags=subvol=@ quiet splash rd.udev.log_priority=3 vt.global_cursor_default=0 systemd.unified_cgroup_hierarchy=1 loglevel=3 Desktop: GNOME 41.2 tk: GTK 3.24.30 wm: gnome-shell dm: GDM 41.0 Distro: Garuda Linux base: Arch Linux Qt: extra/qt5-base 5.15.2+kde+r263-1 (qt qt5) [schmaker@SchmakBook ~]$ gcompris-qt -v Unable to load translation for locale "cs_CZ" , use en_US by default gcompris-qt 1.1
Hi, we decided to remove all locales translated below 75/80% on the last versions to avoid having a half done translation. This is unfortunately the case for Czech: https://l10n.kde.org/stats/gui/stable-kf5/po/gcompris_qt.po/ which is at 69% for now. To help, you can contact the KDE Czech team in https://mail.kde.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kde-i18n-cs. I just noticed someone asked the same question today: https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kde-i18n-cs/2021-December/thread.html. If there are no answers, feel free to tell us and we'll help you setting up your environment to translate GCompris (we have a helper page at https://gcompris.net/wiki/How_to_translate).
I already tried to translate some with help of Vít Pelčák, so i might consider it, even though there is not much time for translating lately. Thanks for clarification though, even while it's a little unlucky as most activities my little ones used were already translated. Marking as resolved and will consider contributing in translation.

This is not an official version (so it will never be in a distribution which will use the official 2.0 source without Czech) but I compiled one for you and your little ones with Czech activated: https://gcompris.net/download/qt/linux/unofficial/gcompris-qt-2.0-Linux-cs.sh To run it, follow https://gcompris.net/downloads-en.html#linux. Have fun with it :).
