Description Reuben 2021-12-16 19:06:02 UTC
1) Go to mouse settings
2) Select left handed mouse

RESULT - buttons do not switch

EXPECTED - buttons switch

This works for me with current git master, so it's possible this was fixed recently.

If your mouse page has multiple mice listed in the dropdown menu at the top, make sure the correct one is selected. Can you check that?

Also what version of Plasma are you using, and on what distro?

I totally missed the mouse switcher in the UI. Is that there under X also? It might be nice to make "all mice" the default setting, although it's certainly nice that I can configure this per device now. Can we reframe this ticket as an enhancement request?

Yeah I've missed that myself at times!

There's also the wrinkle that my ThinkPad's TrackPoint is detected as a mouse, and that my wireless mouse shows up as two devices, not one. But those are separate issues. :)
