Created attachment 144252 [details] something you need to do manually to import captions SUMMARY If you download a caption file from youtube, it downloads in .sbv format. If you open it or directly rename to .srt, it doesn't work for importing in kdenlive 21.08.3. You need to adjust the contents as i show in the image atached. You need to add numbers :1,2,3,4,5,6 at the beggining of each caption, and then you need to change "," for " --> ". I hope this helps because for long videos i upload them first to YT and i wait for the caption done for YT. Then i adjust the content reviewing it, but is a lot faster that making them in Aegisub STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a new file in kdenlive. 2. Try to import and .sbv or renamed .srt file downloaded from YT. 3. Do the adjustments is show in the capture manually 4. Try to import again. It works if everything is ok OBSERVED RESULT It doesn't import the subtitles file but kdenlive is still working ok. NO crash. EXPECTED RESULT If we change the things manually it works well. But is a lot of work. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I would be happy to work on this. Do you think you could send me a few files in that format to experiment with?
I change it wishlist. Thanks N Hinton for try to make a converter.
(In reply to emohr from comment #2) > I change it wishlist. Thanks N Hinton for try to make a converter. No problem. I actually just got it working for me tonight. I will submit it for inclusion into the Kdenlive project.
