Setting brightness via keyboard shortcuts not working in KDE neon Testing Edition

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Try to set brightness with keyboard shortcuts: fn + up/down in my case

OBSERVED RESULT
Brightness level is not changing

EXPECTED RESULT
Brightness level should change

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon Testing Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.89.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Using Wayland session
GPU is Intel UHD Graphics 605
Tried setting brightness via settings - power management, and it didn't work.

Can you check whether the process "org_kde_powerdevil" is running?

I am having a similar issue Lenovo B570 sandybridge laptop

writing directly to /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness successfully changes brightness
