Screenshot showing selection of parent Album

Advanced search filter for "File, Album, Tags" -> Album searches only in "root Folder" of selected Album, but not in Sub-Albums.
E.g. with this Album Structure:
- xNef
	- 2016 12
	- 2017 02

Selecting xNef as "Search items located in" the search result will only include pictures in xNef, but not from the sub-albums 2016 12 or 2017 02.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. select Search from left hand pane
2. Advanced Search
3. Clear all existing Filters (if any)
4. In Section "File, Album, Tags" select in "Album" "Search items located in" a specific Album which has a substructure
5. Press "Try"

OBSERVED RESULT
Sub-Albums are excluded from the search.

EXPECTED RESULT
All Sub-Albums are included in the search
This would allow an easier filtering of pictures in structures. Instead of having to select every single "Sub-Album" only the root Album needs to be selected. Especially when a search is saved and new items are added to the sub-structure one always has to remember to update the saved searches.

Tom, this problem has been reported 1000 times by new users. The behavior is by design; only selected albums are searched. There is a context menu on the right mouse button and choose that children's albums should also be selected.

This behavior is the same in all album selectors, including face detection.

Thanks for the quick reply and sorry for bugging.
One thought: If this was reports so often already, maybe an small hint-text / pop-up text would be helpfull to avoid the bug reports.
Best, Tom

I am also surprised that there is always a communication problem here. All albums have a checkbox, it is clear to me that only albums with a tick are used.

I love using the advanced search and I understand the way the team has set it up now.
I use it e.g. to have a saved search for all pictures of 2021 which a 3+ star rating. The current setup is "static", meaning the included subfolders are statically saved with the advanced search. If new subfolders are added in 2021 after the advanced search was saved, they are not included.
There it would be a nice improvement for the usability if there was an option to "include sub-Albums" (... Feature Request).
Thanks anyhow , Best Tom
