SUMMARY
Switching between the various options in the Quick Display Configuration applet or Meta+P popup a couple of times in a row on Wayland causes the session to completely freeze (except for the mouse cursor). At that point I can only switch to a tty or hard reset the computer.
The following line is printed to the journal several times (36 times in fact):
plasmashell[3887]: requesting unexisting screen 1

TO REPRODUCE just play with the Quick Display Configuration widget on Wayland a little bit until this happens.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: KDE Neon Unstable Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.88
Qt Version: 5.15.3
Graphics Platform: Wayland
