Description Jens Lallensack 2021-11-20 09:36:36 UTC
SUMMARY
***
Plasma session on Wayland freezes (hard reboot needed) after activating "Synchronise contents of the clipboard and the selection" in the Klipper Configure window and selecting text.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the Klipper configure window (right click on the "clipboard contents" in the systray -> "configure clipboard"
2. Enable the "Synchronise contents of the clipboard and the selection" option, and click "Apply". If it is already enabled, deselect it, click apply, and then select it, and again click apply. I have all other options enabled as well (not sure if that matters).
3. Select text with the mouse.

OBSERVED RESULT
Plasma session freezes, and blacks out after a few seconds. Need to switch to Linux console using Ctrl+Alt+F3 and go "shutdown -r now".

EXPECTED RESULT
No crash. It works perfectly on Xorg and the bug only occurs on Wayland.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

I've got the same issue with the same Plasma version on Arch.

I installed OpenSuse Tumbleweed in Virtualbox and I was able to reproduce the bug.
