STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Make a new project
2. Put a long audio track and a .png image on the timeline, extend the image duration to be the same as the audio track
3. Put a videoclip at the end with another audio track at the same time
4. Render the project

OBSERVED RESULT
The image will be displayed for a short time, and then immediately the clip at the end will be displayed, the rest of the video will be a black screen

EXPECTED RESULT
The image be rendered to teh entire duration of the 1st audio track and only then the second clip be played

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 21H1 compilation 19043.1348

Thank you for reporting.
I cannot reproduce. Which type of clip do you use (MP3, PNG)? Which render type do you use (MP4)?

Please try with the daily build to see if it's fixed: https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Kdenlive_Nightly_mingw64/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/

Another thing I noticed: Saving, and reopening such a project file (with images) shows that the images are shrunk to 5 seconds.

Just guessing, for title clips there is a default duration of 5 second, but we can elongate a title clip in the timeline, it stays the same. This isn't the case with images. Something similar should be done with images...

As a workaround, select the .png image in the "Project Bin"
then, go to "Clip Properties"
tick the "Duration", add a duration.
