STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. put iso image on pendrive
2. boot this pendrive
3. (cause otherwise its also not possible to select partition): go to kde partition manager and unmount all mounted-by-default partitions
4. try to install neon via desktop icon
5. complete installer. my data:
language - default
date/time - poland (i just want to have current time), same thing for keyboard
partitioning (!important) - select partition to override - ext4 partition (at me there was arch previously but it got formatted)
user , password - both setted up
6. confirm installation
7. you land with :
```
The installer failed to create partition on disk 'xxxxx'.
==========================================================================================
Create a new partition (xx.xx GiB, ext4) on ‘/dev/sdx’
==========================================================================================
==========================================================================================
Job: Create new partition on device ‘/dev/sdx’
==========================================================================================
Command: e2fsck -f -y -v /dev/sdxy
==========================================================================================
```

OBSERVED RESULT

EXPECTED RESULT

moving progressbar to right and properly installing system on selected partition

My error message looks just slightly different

> Create a new partition (238,42 GiB, extended) on ‘/dev/nvme0n1’
> Job: Create new partition on device ‘/dev/nvme0n1’
> Command: sfdisk --force --append /dev/nvme0n1
> Failed to add partition ‘New Partition’ to device ‘/dev/nvme0n1’.
> Failed to add partition ‘New Partition’ to device ‘/dev/nvme0n1’.

I installed GParted which had no trouble creating a new ext4 partition.

Thank you for your bug report!
However this bug report was created/provided previous to 01/01/2023 and also has not received any updates since before 01/01/2025.
Unfortunately KDE neon no longer provides updates for anything older than noble 24.04 based edition's.
Please upgrade to KDE neon noble and if you can reproduce the issue after upgrading to an active version, feel free to re-open this bug report.
Thanks for understanding!
