Present windows configuration

SUMMARY

Currently the Overview effect is lacking many features that I find very useful in the Present Windows effect. The ability to customize the appearance of windows in the effect, window actions such as right clicking to close a window, reducing the gaps between each window (I find the gaps to be too large), and most importantly activating the effect to see windows in the current desktop, windows with a similar window class, and windows on all desktops.

For reference please take a look at the "Present Windows" effect in System Settings --> Workspace Behavior --> Desktop Effects --> Present Windows.

We're not going to implement every single option in the old effect, because a lot of them are not generally useful, or would control something that is intentionally always on, or not relevant to the effect in its current form.

Please feel free to file individual bug reports for things you want that the current effect is missing, and we'll evaluate on a case-by-case basis.

Could you please elaborate exactly what is not generally useful and not relevant to the effect. For example, right clicking to close windows in the effect is incredibly useful and makes more sense instead of aiming for the tiny x on the top right

The new effect already has middle-click-to-close by default. This matches the "middle click to close" behavior seen in tab bars and many other places.

Again, please open individual bug reports for specific things you'd like implemented for the Overview effect.
