(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kmail Version: KDE 3.0.1 Severity: wishlist Installed from: Mandrake RPMs Compiler: Not Specified OS: Linux OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified When 'Send Again" is used KMail defaults the From field on the new email to the default identity. Instead should always copy the "From" field from the original email (regardless whether this is a defined KMail identity or something custom that was typed in From: for the original email). Example: Original email: From:me@mydomain.com To:you@yourdomain.com After send-again should be (the same as above regardless of what identities are defined in KMail): From:me@mydomain.com To:you@yourdomain.com (Submitted via bugs.kde.org)
I can confirm this problem is still there in the development version. Changing this to Bug.
Works fine with Kmail 1.8.2
Works fine for me with KMail 1.9. If the reporter cannot reproduce this bug, perhaps someone should close this report.
Or perhaps I am misunderstanding this bug report. Does the reporter want the ability to resend *arbitrary* e-mails? Even ones that he did not originally send himself? If that's the case, then this report should be marked as WONTFIX. The user should be allowed to resend only those e-mails he himself previously sent in his sent-mail folder; to resend a third-party mail he should use the Forward or Redirect commands.
Works for me too in KMail 1.8.1. I think this issue had been fixed and can be closed.
marking as resolved
It looks like I have the same issue with version 1.9.9 (kde 3.5.9). When I try to resend a mail (from an Imap Sent item folder), Kmail uses the default identity and not the one that was used in the original mail. I even tried to specify the identity for this folder (Sent), but it's still picking up the default identity. Thanks Jonas
