SUMMARY
When SAVE button is clicked, nothing happens. File, SAVE AS, also no response, no window pops up for file name and save to location. Also, OPEN is not working. Same no response. Unable to open old projects. 
I recently had the hard drive replaced. Upon re-installing kdenlive, there is this issue. latest version. 21.08.2. Please help! Love this product. Thank you!

Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 21.08.3a to see if there are any packaging issues https://download.kde.org/stable/kdenlive/21.08/linux/
