Description Firlaev-Hans 2021-11-09 20:57:41 UTC
SUMMARY
I tried to add a video file with 3 audio tracks to a blank kdenlive project (which came only with two audio tracks) and the KDE warning sound played constantly before kdenlive crashed after a few seconds

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a video file with more audio tracks than the project currently has
2. Drag it onto the timeline

OBSERVED RESULT
Warning sound with no message followed by a crash

EXPECTED RESULT
A popup window asking if more audio track should be added to the project to accommodate those of the video file

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.87.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.14.16-zen1-1-zen (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11

Thank you for reporting. Please try with the AppImage. It should appear a massage to create more audio tracks.

It does indeed work with the AppImage of 21.08.3, the message about adding an audio track appears as soon once the video file is imported and dragging it to the timeline creates a warning, without that constant warning sound and without crashing.

Something must be wrong with the build on Arch Linux then.

Thank you for the feedback. Glad to hear it works.

If you like you can report this issue to the Arch Linux packager.

I close the issue as it isn't a Kdenlive problem.

Feel free to reopen this bug or create a new report if this is still happening with the latest Kdenlive version.
