Created attachment 143344 [details] Unclear drag-and-drop functionality in Ark SUMMARY Drag and drop only works when dragging the file name column, not when dragging on other columns. Dolphin has the same bahavior, but Dolphin clearly signifies that dragging elsewhere is selection, and dragging file names picks up the files. This inconsistency likely causes confusion for users. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open an archive in Ark. Also open a folder in details view in Dolphin for comparison. 2. In Dolphin, drag anywhere besides file names, and observe how the selection is shown. 3. In Ark, drag somewhere that isn't a file name. Observe how the selection is displayed as if one used shift-select. 4. In Dolphin, drag on a file's name. Observe how only the file name follows the cursor. Also observe how different it is when compared to Step 2. 5. In Ark, drag on a file's name. Observe how the entire row follows the cursor, and how similar it is to Step 3. OBSERVED RESULT Ark does not clearly differentiate the way between dragging file names to extract it and dragging elsewhere to select multiple files. EXPECTED RESULT Dragging columns other than the file name in Ark to select multiple entries should look a lot more distinct from dragging file names elsewhere to extract them. Alternatively, the selection behavior can be removed to make sure users are not confused by it. Selection can still be made with shift-select.
