Description Kurtsjunkacc 2021-11-05 08:50:39 UTC
SUMMARY
In the file browser I would like to select multiple tracks with the usual methods of shift or ctrl click. This is currently not possible.

I have the same request/problem with the playlist items.

Also in the playlist it would be nice if you could click on the album and it would select all the tracks

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Goto Files and enter a folder. Shift or CTRL click on a file and it is added straight to the playlist rather than selected.
2. Goto the playlist and click on a track and then shift or ctrl click on another track and that new track is selected and the previous selected track is unselected

OBSERVED RESULT

Normal shift or ctrl click responses do not work

EXPECTED RESULT

Ability to select multiple files/tracks

What would you do with them if you could select more than one?
Comment 2 Kurtsjunkacc 2021-11-09 06:21:36 UTC
In the playlist I would use the abilty so remove tracks. (Also if the
idea of clicking the album and selecting all its track is implemented I
would use it to remove the album)

From the files browser I would use it to select multiple files to add
to a playlist in one go.

Thanks, seems reasonable.

Hi,
just wanted to mention, that this would be a very reasonable improvement!
In my opinion a very expectable feature that would make interacting with Elisa much more intuitive..

If multiple songs could be selected, and if they could be edited together, then ratings, album names, artist names, etc. could be applied to many of songs in a single pass. ... As an example use case, I have playlists based on accumulated years of ratings, and I would like to apply a 3-star rating to thousands of songs in one playlist, 4-star to another group in a different playlist, 5-star in another, etc.
