Description daforlynx 2021-11-03 22:31:27 UTC
SUMMARY
Fade out on Master effects doesn't work if video length is changed

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Insert a clip
2. In the master effects, add a "Fade out" effect, set to 1 sec
3. Export
4. Resize clip (changing video length)
5. Export again

OBSERVED RESULT
The Fade out effect no longer applies. The video cuts to black at the end of the clip. This is observable even in the viewport. Changing the fadeout value doesn't fix it - though the video darkens slightly when the fade out is supposed to kick in.

EXPECTED RESULT
The fade out should apply at the end of the video whether or not the length of the video is changed. Fade in (in master effects) does this just fine.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Audio spectrum filter was also applied on the master effects. Maybe this has something to do with it.
This bug (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363538) from 2016(?) appears to be the exact or extremely similar bug to the one I'm experiencing. Also note my kdenlive version.

Forgot to add, the only way I've found to fix it is to delete and reapply the effect.
