SUMMARY
When one chooses the Digitally sign... option from the tools menu and draws a box but then cancels the signing
and switched the tool to anything else e.g. underline the signature option remains active no matter what one chooses.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a pdf file
2. Choose Digitally sign...from tools menu and draw a box
3. Cancel signing
4. Try to use another annotation tool

Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 35 with 21.08.0

Sorry, the 21.08.0 is the poppler version, below. Okular is as states 21.08.2
