Created attachment 143083 [details] screen shot of empty albums SUMMARY Most (not all) of the albums exist, but indicate that there are no images STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. I have no idea, over 104K images are not visible 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT No images in the albums EXPECTED RESULT To see my images SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I was working on organizing and annotating my images. I exited and restarted the application. I performed a soft reboot of the computer. I copied the database files (4 of them) to another file location. I performed a full shut down of the computer. I uninstalled and reinstalled digiKam 7.4.0. I uninstalled and installed digiKam 7.4.0 debug. I have verified with file explorer that all of the images still exist in all of the folders. I am still not able to view my images in digiKam (except for 1). I need to know how to correct this situation
Without a DebugView log and further information (collection type, database type, etc.) we cannot help. Create a DebugView log with active debug environment variable as described here for Windows: https://www.digikam.org/contribute/ Also keep in mind that digiKam-7.4.0 is a development version for which there have been no updates for 2 months due to problems with the build computer. Created attachment 143097 [details] Debug log file I installed 7.4.0 on your recommendation when I had an issue with metadata edits not being persistent with 7.3.0. That solved my problem. I hope that I have properly performed the instructions that you gave me to create the necessary log file for you. I have attached the log file.
I'm sorry, your core database under "I:/photos/digikam4.db" is defective and can probably not be repaired. Check your drive for errors. Delete the database or rename them to start with a new database. Error messages: "Unable to fetch row" "database disk image is malformed" "11" 1 Maik
I have saved a copy of each of the database files from early September. Can I use the previous copy of digikam4.db instead of creating a new database? Can I just reclaim digikam4.db or must I reclaim all 4 files? How much data will I lose by creating a new database? Thank you so much for your quick responses.
You can simply copy only back the digikam4.db from the backup. All images that have been changed / deleted or added in the meantime will be updated again. Maik
Has there been any progress, has the problem been resolved? Maik
Nadine, Please, we needs feedback here. I recommend to install the 7.5.0 pre-release windows installer available here : https://files.kde.org/digikam/ Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier
