Created attachment 143077 [details] This is the backtrace for the 4.4.8 version of Krita SUMMARY Application will crash when trying to open a krita file/ creating a new file STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Downloads different versions (4.4.3/.5/.8) 2. Tried opening/creating new file 3. App crashes OBSERVED RESULT In the Krita crash logs after every crash it just saids "app did not close properly" when I do a backtrace it saids "signal sigabrt" EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Catalina Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
How big is the image? There is a known crash when opening very small size images that draw the pixel grid upon opening. This crash is fixed in master and 5.0-beta I just need to confirm this is the issue: Any image below 64x64 pixels will trigger the pixel grid to show upon opening. on macOS openGL this causes a crash. I suspect this is the issue as the backtrace looks suspiciously similar as bug 430366
