Description Nick Stefanov 2021-10-29 07:59:10 UTC
SUMMARY
Hello,
This bug is very old but I decided to report it finally. When one put a file or files on the desktop, they are moving up several tiles when you turn off and then turn on the monitor. It's reproducible with ~90% success. Here's a video:
https://imgur.com/a/ohmteG2

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Put icons/files somewhere on the desktop
2. Turn off the monitor
3. Turn on the monitor

OBSERVED RESULT
When the monitor is on again, the files aren't there they was before the monitor shutdown.

EXPECTED RESULT
Files shouldn't move on just monitor turn off.

In this case, do you have multiple monitors, or just one?
Comment 2 Nick Stefanov 2021-10-29 18:28:26 UTC
Thanks for the reply - it's just one monitor connected via DP cable.

Plasma 5.24 - the bug is still here. Thank you for your attention again!

I suspect that this issue will have been fixed by the big refactor of how containments are bound to monitors in Plasma 5.27. Can you still reproduce the issue in Plasma 5.27.4, Nick?
