SUMMARY
I have an XPS13 laptop with a 4k screen, and an external monitor also with a 4k screen. Sometimes, when I connect the external monitor, its resolution is changed to FHD, so I need to reset it to 4k.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Unfortunately, I have not found a clear repro procedure.

OBSERVED RESULT
The resolution sometimes automatically changes to FHD for the external monitor.

EXPECTED RESULT
The resolution of the external monitor should stay to 4k.

This is now the output of kscreen-console when in buggy state.
This happened to me without unconnecting/connection my external monitor.
It just happened after my screen locked automatically.

It seems that the mode from the external screen can be applied to the internal screen.

I also observe the first screen does not have a Size property.

Out of curiosity, does this happen in a Wayland session ?

I have not tried, since I did not manage to have a working wayland session on my Debian Bookworm box.

KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.5

Well this Plasma version won't get support anymore.
Please confirm the issue with a supported Plasma version.

I am now on 5.24.4 and I entirely re-installed my system.
