SUMMARY I've set my panel to auto-hide. While ordering/moving a taskbar entry the panel suddenly hides and thus the selected entry ends up as shortcut on the desktop. If it helps: this new with 5.23, didn't happen before. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. set Panel to "auto-hide" and Task Manager to "order manually" 2. left click, hold and move a taskbar entry 3. panel hides and you're left with a selection hovering over the desktop that cannot be cancelled 4. release selection and the selection creates a shortcut on the desktop EXPECTED RESULT 1) panel should not hide until selection is released 2) selection should at least be cancel-able by hitting ESC SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.14.0-3-amd64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz Memory: 15,4 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa DRI Intel® HD Graphics 4600
I cannot reproduce this issue with current git master on Wayland. Are you able to reproduce this issue in Plasma 5.25 or later? There is also a chance this could have been fixed with my related change to fix Bug 402376.

Still an issue with Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.98.0 Qt Version: 5.15.6 Kernel Version: 5.19.0-2-amd64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics Memory: 31,3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU/PCIe/SSE2 Manufacturer: TUXEDO Product Name: TUXEDO Polaris AMD Gen3 (CZN) As you can see, I'm still at X11 since I need to use X2Go. AFAIK X2Go does not work w/ Wayland (and judging by the current rate of development, never will).
So, waht am _I_ supposed to do about that? I proviided the requested info, but there seems to be no state to reflect that.
Thanks. I'm not able to reproduce this issue myself. Could you attach a screen recording that shows it happening, so I can be sure I'm testing the same thing you're doing? Thanks!
