Shadow not shown by system tray

See the attached screenshot.

The shadow will reappear if I move it to another side of the screen (or restart plasmashell). Happens with all plasma styles I've tried including default breeze.

I forgot to mention that it might be caused by connecting/disconnecting an external display of higher resolution (1440p vs 1080p). Perhaps the shadow's only going as far as the lower res. display extends--I haven't carefully checked but will keep an eye on it.

Can you detail the setup of your screens before and after the shadows disappeared.

`ksreen-doctor -o` for instance

It does seem to be caused by switching from 1440p to 1080p, back to 1440p, but I can't consistently reproduce it. The output of "kscreen-doctor -o" before and after the shadow disappears is the same:
