I have the same problem with plasma 5.23.2 and workrave 1.10.48. It does not happen all the time, but when you close workrave window, reopen from tray it would render plasma unusable and only sddm restart can help. It used to work fine with plasma < 5.23
Same issue with 1Password and Microsoft Teams. Reproducible 100% of the times on two machines. (Intel and AMD) Left click menu, right click menu, left click menu, right click menu. Artifacts appear. 100% CPU. System hang. Do you still have issues on latest Plasma? Bug 444385 looks similar and it was fixed in 5.23.3.
(In reply to Konrad Materka from comment #3) > Do you still have issues on latest Plasma? Bug 444385 looks similar and it > was fixed in 5.23.3. Could not reproduce anymore. Am currently on 5.23.4.
