SUMMARY Inside of dolphin settings under the navigation tab, there is a setting called "Open folders during drag operation". If you drag a file over a folder or some location in the places panel, it will open that location, so that you may place the file being moved in that location. This works fine on Xorg, but not at all on Wayland. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open dolphin settings. 2. Go to Navigation 3. Enable "Open folders during drag and drop operations" 4. Drag a file or folder and hover over another location whether that be a folder or a section in the places panel. OBSERVED RESULT Nothing happens EXPECTED RESULT Folder being hovered over should become the new working directory. Operating System: EndeavourOS KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.87.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.14.12-zen1-1-zen (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i7-7500U CPU @ 2.70GHz Memory: 15.4 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 620
Update it works on folders, but not in the places panel.
Cannot reproduce on neon unstable. "Open folders during drag and drop operations" works even with Places panel. Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.100.0 Qt Version: 5.15.6 Graphics Platform: Wayland
This works fine on Wayland now
