Description David 2021-10-20 01:55:36 UTC
SUMMARY
The new system monitor does not show a history of resource usage (CPU/RAM) as ksysguard used to do.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the new system monitor.
2. Go to processes.
3. See the CPU and memory usage and notice that there's no history bar.

OBSERVED RESULT
No short history of resource consumption during some interval (vertically-rotating horizontal bars with numbers shown on top).

EXPECTED RESULT
Should display resource usage history like ksysguard.

By default line chart is only enabled for CPU usage and works here, for memory you have to enable it through "configure columns"

Works for me for CPU; for memory indeed it's a textual display by default, but you can turn history with Configure Columns > Memory Usage > Line Chart

Can you attach a screenshot that shows the problem?

Ok, works if I change it to "Line Chart", but the default is "Line Chart (Scaled to 100%)".

Hmm, line Chart (Scaled to 100%) works for me.

As far as I know this works in Plasma 6.1, though we do have an open bug about it not working in tree mode which still reproduces.

However, since the normal mode works correctly, I'm going to mark this as resolved. If it does still happen please reopen.
