Description Yngve Levinsen 2021-10-19 13:51:42 UTC
SUMMARY

I was playing around with the Dolphin settings to figure out another issue (no PDF preview), when I enabled the User Feedback from the Dolphin Preferences window. After I have saved with this enabled, Dolphin would crash on start.

It was very hard to get back from this, in the end I deleted basically all KDE settings I could find in ~/.config, ~/.local etc and rebooted. Hence I have not tried to reproduce this yet.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable User Feedback in Dolphin Preferences
2. Try to start Dolphin

OBSERVED RESULT

Crash with message: "Qt: Session management error:
networkIdsList argument is NULL"

EXPECTED RESULT

Dolphin works with the User Feedback enabled.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5 (I think)
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.87.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

I just noticed it looks like this is very similar to Bug 431730, however that one is marked as fixed in version 20.12.2, while I am running 21.
