SUMMARY I have the dock on bottom set to auto-hide and dodge maximized. Sometimes when the dock hides, it leaves a blurry area instead of disappearing correctly. This area covers 100% of the width of the screen despite the dock not being 100% wide. It happens quite often but I have not been able to reproduce it reliably. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Scroll to bottom edge to make dock appear. 2. Move the cursor out of the dock area. 3. Blurry area remains. OBSERVED RESULT Blurry area covers the bottom part of the screen after the dock is supposed to be hidden. EXPECTED RESULT No artifacts remain after the dock is hidden. I dont use wayland but when plasma 5.23 reaches my system then I will have a small look.
I have encountered this bug in 5.22 so I doubt it has any connection to it.
This is still an issue with the current version (10.8). It happens very reliably for me, when background blur is enabled and latte is setup to hide from the active window. When I maximize a window, the dock disappears, but the blur effect stays in the front. Until very recently it happened for X11 also (there just occasionally instead of always), however that seems to be fixed now.
happens in my system also but I havent found what triggers it... There is a big chance to big kwin upstream issue but needs further investigation...
