Description easontek@xflymusic.com 2021-10-17 03:57:34 UTC
SUMMARY

Please add support for Macs with retina displays, as that is the majority of us; if possible. Also build a version for ARM Macs as the current one running under Rosetta 2 has subpar performance

Thanks for your report!
Unfortunately it seems that Kdenlive does not work at all on M1 (even with Rosetta) at the moment. However native M1 support is definitely on our roadmap. We are currently waiting for KDE Craft to support it, since Craft is used to create our macOS and Windows packages.
Comment 2 Julius Künzel 2023-11-14 16:37:58 UTC
It is possible now to build Kdenlive on macOS ARM by using KDE Craft. We also added CD jobs to https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/kdenlive However those do not sign the *.dmg yet. We are waiting for that before we start to publish official release versions

Here the 24.02 mac ARM RC: https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/unstable/kdenlive-24.02.0-RC-macos-arm64.dmg

kdenlive MAC ARM RC is running on M1 MAX 32GB. Older Projects (mostly from version 23.xx) are loaded and are usable.

With Kdenlive 24.02 macOS ARM/M1 support is definitely implemented. I think we can close this issue.

Yes, I agree
