Description brodnack 2021-10-16 18:33:50 UTC
SUMMARY
After installing DigiKam 7.3 on Windows, the first install of any version on this computer, I get a dialog stating, "Cannot find SQLite core database..." when I open the program.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install DigiKam 7.3 on a Windows 10 computer that has never had DigiKam installed.
2. Open the program.

OBSERVED RESULT
Dialog complaining that the SQLite core databases cannot be found -- because they do not exist.

EXPECTED RESULT
DigiKam would create any needed databases on first run.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10 Home build 19041.1237

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The work around is to install DigiKam 7.0, which offers to set up catalogs, scan for pictures and offers to create the databases.

You definitely haven't completed an initial setup attempt. Delete C:\User\%Username%\AppData\Local\digikamrc and try again.

I was able to install version 7.0 and then update to 7.3. the digikamrc file has already been updated.
