Description laposhchenkoanton 2021-10-16 11:46:53 UTC
SUMMARY
I have two Android devices: Samsung Galaxy Tab A (Android 7) and Samsung Galaxy J3 (Android 5.1.1), both with latest KDE Connect from Google Play, and a PC running Kubuntu 20.04 with KDE Connect 1.4.0

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect all devices to the same WiFi network
2. Start KDE Connect on all devices

OBSERVED RESULT
The androids can detect each other and pair successfully. However, the Kubuntu computer doesn't detect any devices, and the androids don't see it either.

EXPECTED RESULT
All three devices can see each other and pair.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 20.04
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.12.8

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Port 1716 is accessible on all devices from the network, so no firewalls are in the way.

Please let me know if any additional information is required. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for the bug report! Unfortunately in its current state, it is not yet actionable for developers as it only states that something does not work on your particular system, but no indication why it does not work.

I would ask you to try the troubleshooting steps at https://userbase.kde.org/KDEConnect#I_have_two_devices_running_KDE_Connect_on_the_same_network.2C_but_they_can.27t_see_each_other and/or start a discussion at discuss.kde.org or one of your distribution's support forums to find help toward solving this issue. If after doing so you find that there are concrete changes required in KDE connect, please add them as a comment to this report or open a new one.
