Created attachment 142390 [details] protocol of the attempted connection with CEM 40 SUMMARY Ekos (Kstars) does not connect with Ioptron CEM 40, does't recognize the USB input. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1.Connect mac or raspi via USB to CEM 40 2.Start kstars locally on Macbook or remote or locally on raspi with stellarmate. 3. toggle to ekos, start and connect OBSERVED RESULT [ERROR] Failed to connect to port (/dev/serial/by-id/usb-FTDI_FT230X_Basic_UART_D3091Q41-if00-port0). Error: Port failure Error: No such file or directory. Check if device is connected to this port. EXPECTED RESULT flawless connection. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: 11.6 Linux/KDE Plasma: stellarmate 1.6 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION successful connection with CEM 40 under win 10 using identical cable and port using the App "ioptron commander" and ASCOM: moving, parking, gps etc worked. As I remember: no connections issues with kstars 3.54.
The port no longer exists, try to rescan for system ports under Connections tab as well. Then select of the detected system ports.

Scanning the ports works with OSX and leads to a working connection to CEM 40. The system on raspi (Stellarmate 1.60) replies: [Warning] No Candidate ports found on the system..
This is not an issue of KStars, it's an issue with INDI (KStars is just a client). At any rate, I suggest you re-scan for system ports again and check.
