SUMMARY The Custom pattern tab doesn't show anything, as if the Current Layer was empty, until the user switches the type and then back to "Current Layer". STEPS TO REPRODUCE 0. Create a file, the selected/current layer must have some recognizable shape, must not be empty. 1. Open Patterns popup. 2. Switch tab to Custom Pattern. 3. There is nothing visible. Only an empty rectangle. 4. Switch to "Entire Image" and then to "Current Layer" 5. The shape shows up. OBSERVED RESULT In 3., there is only something resembling an empty rectangle instead of the shape on the current layer. EXPECTED RESULT In 3., there should be the shape visible, and switching from and back shouldn't change how it looks like. NOTE: If you then repeat the steps with a new layer and a new shape, in 3. it will look like the old layer/shape until you refresh it. Basically it needs one refreshing when the user opens the popup. Assuming this is a bug, what would be the purpose of the "Update" button if it refreshed on opening the popup?
Yeah, I kinda forgot about it. I don't think the Update button adds anything useful, I mean it confused me, so I guess it could confuse other users as well. But because of that, I'm unassigning myself and changing it to wishlist.
I think the Update button should just be above the thumbnail (kind of "chronologically") instead of below, and it would already fix most of the issue.
