Created attachment 142346 [details] Time remapping blank button SUMMARY The Time Remapping panel has a square button in the bottom right with no label or tooltip. When pressed, it appears to simply disable time remapping on the clip without updating the checkbox state on the context menu. There appear to be a few other ways to cause desync or contradictions between the apparent state of time remapping (when looking at the flag on the clip context menu) versus the Time Remapping panel itself being enabled/disabled. See also: bug #443613. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enable time remap on a clip and open the Time Remapping panel. 2. Click the unlabelled button in the screenshot. OBSERVED RESULT Time remap panel is disabled but context menu erroneously indicates that it's still enabled. EXPECTED RESULT 1. Button should have a label/icon (perhaps the trash can icon?) and a tooltip, or be removed entirely. 2. Time remap checkbox state and panel state should stay in sync.
Thanks for your report! The button should usually have a trash bin icon because it is to delete the remapping effect. I confirm that the button does not have a tooltip but for me it shows an icon… However please always fill out the Platform fields correctly. Since Kdenlive has many dependencies there are lots of problems related to packaging and it is almost impossible to investigate or reproduce a bug without knowing the OS and the packaging type. (Please supplement) For windows and Flatpak 21.08.2 is already available. Will will announce this officially as soon as the appimage is ready. Please update and test again if the icon is still missing. Here is the link for the windows version https://download.kde.org/stable/kdenlive/21.08/windows/ Flatpak is available through flatpak update or your package manager
Thank you too for maintaining the project. :) Yes, I forgot to add the platform to this one. Specifically it's Windows 10. Style and theme are default, and Breeze icons are on. I've just installed and tried 21.08.2, but there's still no icon on the button. I even uninstalled and reinstalled fresh, and made a new project just to be sure. I also tried the standalone version.
Thanks for the update! This has to be investigated then…
I also ran into this bug, on Windows 11, with the standalone 21.08.2 version. Another detail is that I have two monitors, and one is high DPI (4k monitor, set to 150%), which might affect things. I decided to try clicking the button to see what would happen, and was very confused at the result. I eventually figured out what the button did by watching a YouTube video about the time remap feature, and in the video the button *did* have the icon, ha.
This seems to be a Windows packaging issue. Standalone versions don't have a trash icon on time remap. Install versions does have a trash icon on time remap.
A lot changed since 21.08.1 especally our packaging has seen many updates and this issue might be solved in newer versions in the meanwhile. Please download the latest offical version from https://kdenlive.org/download and try again.
Tested with 23.08.2 on Windows. The trash icon appears in install and standalone version.
