Created attachment 142145 [details] ^ I attach 30s of video of the Freeze, (I was recording) when the freeze happened and the 'Save' aborted. Hi, I'm playing with the Stylize filter in beta1, appimage, Gmic 2.9.8. There is issues with Input layers: "active and above" or "active and bellow" are never in the right order if I compare to the layer stack of Krita. It's often the same when GMIC output more than one layer; they get reversed. GMIC option "Start Gmic QT" always tries to restore the previous filter by default, sometimes, it is a source of Freeze (in the Stylise case with various Input/Output, for sure). So question: why GMIC always try to re-apply the latest filter with "Start Gmic QT" and not start fresh/new? Krita proposes "Filter > Reapply the last GMIC filter" as a separate item (but often crashes and useless because that's what the option above do by default). Last issue (video in attachement) is pretty severe; calling a filter that will Freeze just after doing a Saving action will stop the saving process in mid-air. Krita Froze while saving. I lost the file. (no big damage, it was an incremental save, but probably 10min lost). I wonder if a source of Freeze I have is when it happens during autosave? (mine is set to 3min, it can collide often). Can the GMIC dialog appears after the saving process is over to avoid that? Thanks! (Note: I'll retest all on beta2 coming soon)
I can't reproduce on krita-5.0.0-beta2-x86_64.appimage with 2.9.9 Gmic. It sounds like many of my GMIC issues disapeared. Thanks @amyspark ! For this (complex) filter; it's better to keep two layers only: - The style on top - The target under. Then on GMIC select the input "All" and for the style "Style (Top)". It really works very well, even if the style is another resolution (like 20% size of the canvas). i also tested other multilayer operation: like colorize line-art, autofill; things that ouput two layers. All sounds ok. Can be closed. :-)
