Whenever I try to input audio into my animation, it gets imputed, but then it sounds like an old recorder. I've been trying for a few days to find a clear answer to help me figure it out. I updated Krita as well, but nothing has helped.

Hi SkyJ,

We're aware of various problems with the audio playback in Krita and, even though we have a new version with animation improvements coming soon (Krita 5.0), many of these problems will not be resolved in time for the next big release.

I know that's disappointing, but once 5.0 is out, I'd like to prioritize doing whatever is possible to improve the animation audio features and performance, hopefully leading to better audio in version 5.1. So please hang on a little bit longer!
