Although window switching is working it is severely limited by not seeing which windows are available. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have some user-specific config 2. Press Alt+Tab while holding Alt OBSERVED RESULT The visually broken window overview is shown EXPECTED RESULT A visually correct window overview is shown SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION It's not specific to the 'Large Icons', basically all variants seem to be visually broken. I am pretty sure, that it's config file related (specific to the files in /home/$MY_USER), as a newly created user on the same system is not affected by the bug. However, I do not want to delete all configuration files for my main user. I can easily copy over files from one user to the other, so I can nail it down, however, I'd appreciate a list of files or options worth a try.
This bug should be fixed. Can you check whether it's still reproducible with latest plasma? 5.21 is not supported by kde anymore. If it's still reproducible, please reopen this bug report.
I tested with 5.22.90 and this version is a lot worse: It does not even show a desktop at all and only shows the login screen (programs are loaded, but neither restarting kwin_x11 nor plasmashell from a virtual terminal does help). What shall I try next?
KDE 5.22.5: I cannot reproduce the issue. The appended screenshot doesn't make sense for "Large Icons". It should only display the icons of the applications and no content of the windows. In addition to the list of icons, only the currently selected window should be shown on the desktop, all other currently displayed windows should not be shown. Please provide all settings for your task switcher configuration (Maybe a screenshot of the settings window). Please provide information about the theme you are using. You can try to click the Defaults button in the task switcher settings and see if that works properly.
