SUMMARY Kate recently introduced two buttons above the scroll bar ("Quick Open" and something for splitting views). These buttons cannot be removed from the settings like the other things in Kate. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Launch Kate, see that there's these two additions above the scroll bar. 2. Click 'Settings' and try to untick something to remove those buttons. OBSERVED RESULT Not possible to remove those buttons. EXPECTED RESULT Those buttons should be easily removable, and ideally not even placed close to the scrollbar. Why do you want to remove them?
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Why do you want to remove them? Because I don’t use them, don’t want to click them accidentally, I find them distracting when the window size is small, and I want the text editor interface to have only what I use (and I've already removed other things).
If somebody steps up to provide a patch to hide them as option, I have no issues with that. Moving this to wish list. But if nobody steps up for this in the next years or so, I guess this will end up closed again.
I don't see this happening. I think we aimed to have a very minimal UI per default and don't see a real reason to make this more configurable.
