Created attachment 141878 [details] screenshot of battery health applet SUMMARY Two problems about this applet's visual design: 1. Information about battery health is effectively duplicated when battery's health is low. 2. Label "Battery health:" is too far from the numeric value on the other side of an applet. It's even worse when low health notice is on top, making it look misaligned and wrong. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Murder ur battery almost to death. 2. Or "just" buy an ASUS ROG laptop, and use it for, like, half a year. 3. Open the Battery and Brightness applet. OBSERVED RESULT See the screenshot. EXPECTED RESULT Should be somehow more readable, and not redundant. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.87.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.14.6-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz Memory: 15.6 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M/PCIe/SSE2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ASUS ROG has a very shitty battery controller, not kidding.
One issue per bug report please. :) Let's use this bug report for the issue of the duplicated info. Can you file another one for the sub-par label formatting?
Git commit bafd2686c25569ac9ab52b01751214254b9e489a by Nate Graham. Committed on 04/01/2022 at 17:53. Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'. applets/batterymonitor: don't show both battery health and broken message They both say the same thing, but the "broken battery" message is more descriptive and actionable, so we can show only that.
