SUMMARY When using the subtitling tool, editing subtitles by using the carriage return works when exporting, but when I reopen the project file, the edits have been lost, so all text is body text rather than separated as individual lines. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. I used speech to text to generate subtitles 2. I clicked on a subtitle and edited it by placing a carriage return to demarcate two sepcific lines 3. When I saved and closed the project file, and then reopened it, the formatting had been lost. Hi, this should no longer be a problem in the current releases. Newlines can be a little troublesome with subtitles, in some formats a blank line is the terminator between two separate subtitles, in others all newlines must be escaped. Since this report was made kdenlive has switched from SRT to ASS subtitles and is escaping literal carriage returns entered in the editor. There are still a few glitchy corner cases as of the 25.04 release, but they should all be fixed in the next iteration of subtitle improvements that should land with the next major release.
