Description bugs.kde.org 2021-09-20 10:21:13 UTC
I use "Remote input" on an android and send keystrokes to Windows.

Depending on the used android keyboard you get the following reactions when writing uppercase:
- Gboard: The Windows system usually reacts with the typical alert-sound when I press the shift key on the android keyboard to write uppercase. The transmission of the uppercase character works so far, dispite the windows-alert-sound.
- Gboard: Uppercase characters appear lowercase in a RDP session
- SwiftKey: Works as expected when not in RDP
- SwiftKey: Uppercase characters appear lowercase in a RDP session

When using "Remote input" on Windows to send keystrokes to Windows, everything, including RDP sessions, work as expected.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. On Windows open an RDP session
1. Connect Android and Windows with KDE Connect
2. On Android use "Remote input"
3. Activate the keyboard on android (switch keyboard in necessary to reproduce)
4. Press Shift
5. Press A
6. Watch lowercase a being send to the RDP session
