SUMMARY Sometimes when you boot into wayland session using NVIDIA it will set refresh rate to 60hz despite in the settings section saying it's 144hz, you can even check in ~/.local/share/kscreen that it actually reverted to 60hz and this happens 95% of the time on 5.22.90 which is a real shame as it finally resolved most of the wayland issues on NVIDIA. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Log into wayland session witness correct 144hz then reboot directly logging into wayland session(if you log into X11 and then back into wayland it'll resolve the issue) OBSERVED RESULT Logging into wayland session reverts from 144hz or anything higher than 60hz back to 60hz EXPECTED RESULT Refresh rate to stay at 144hz(or any other that the user is using) SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2
For me, Wayland sessions reduced from 60 Hz (on Xorg) to 30 Hz maximum (available in settings) and logging into Xorg first then Wayland doesn't solve the issue. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS: ------- OS: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.89.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2
Seems to be fixed as of Plasma 5.24.5
Glad to hear it! Thanks for reporting back with that info.
